I could not have been happier to revisit characters such as Sephy and Jude in this epic conclusion doouble an epic tale. I stood corrected at the end as the ending was imperfectly perfect with a dramatic ending which could well lead into another book, whether it be Callie, Tobey, or as I think could possible happen, Dan.

Callum reveals to Sephy that amlorie tried to catch up with her before she left for Chivers, and he was unable to catch ,alorie with her. The family tree has changed noticeably, both deaths and births have occurred and here we are, left with the remains of two of possibly the most tragic and heartfelt novels I have ever read.

Themes from this book can be seen in our everyday life, in the news and all over worldwide media. Knife Edge proves every single one of these to be true of Jude, however, due to Malorie Blackman giving us an insight into Jude’s mind and his way of thinking, we are also exposed to Jude’s weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
To read about a young white man grappling with the challenges, social and psychological, that harry many young black men is enlightening in subtle ways, though Blackman’s clever blcakman of the thriller genre lifts the book beyond consciousness-raising.
She suffers from a horrible disease which has symptoms of bitchiness, moodiness and erratic behavior. Dec 22, L’Amour de Livres rated it it was amazing. This would have worked better as a novella or companion novel that did not need to be as long as it was.
Loved this series and I’m hoping to read as much Malorie Blackman as I can now! The play garnered positive reviews, with Blackman herself saying that she “knew it was in really safe hands”. Cross is still bigger-than-life, but unlike some of the previous books, the action doesn’t suffer from lapses in reality.
The problem I think I had, which colored my reading of Double Cross, is that the third book in what was supposed to be a trilogy cgoss with threads woven in and it was a nice, natural close to a satisfying story. Although he loathes Crosses, he begins to fall in love with her. Sephy is overjoyed to find that Callum is in her class after helping him pass the entrance examination.

But when he’s offered the chance to earn some money just for making a few ‘deliveries’, just this once, would it hurt to say ‘yes’? He then tells her that he plans to use her baby to hurt her. The plot is complicated and boasts some ingenious twists and turns, but very well developed and engaging.
She decides to follow the path of her father with her new hate-filled personality.
Rouble then points out that Jasmine and Jude died because of her. Tobey wants a better life – for him and his girlfriend Callie Rose.

They decide to run away together. The drama is present, the conflict is palpable and the fans of this series finally get their happy ending. Callum decides to let Sephy flee from the other kidnappers while they are out. Made you give up and give in?

Callie is a lot more likeable in this book than she is in Checkmate which is good however, towards the end you start to hate Tobey, which changes the roles a bit. I hint blackmaj the was only because I first read her books, including the first three in this series when I was teenager way way back but I can’t seem to get back into them as an adult. Ah, to be young and in love.
