In this experimental ethnography of incandescent intensity, the scholar-turned-boxer fleshes out Pierre Lolc signal concept of habitusdeepening our theoretical grasp of human practice.
The larger points that Wacquant makes about boxing in this chapter are fairly standard and are based on a rather quaint combination of functionalism and the culture of poverty perspective. Yet for three years he immersed himself among local fighters, amateur and professional.
