What I truly like about this book is the close relationship between the core ideas of Foucault’s analysis specially his insight on the art as representation and the current tensions between art and digitalia. And I wonder also whether in the original, to someone magrite, Foucault is a slightly less dense read — if some of the complexities of reading Foucault sometimes a herculean task arise in part from a use of language on his part so precise that even the best translation will lose some of its saturation, will labor to reproduce the ideas, turning the smooth functioning of his thought into sbre limping, juddering machine.

There are moments, however, when I feel like I’m stuck in such a deep rut, that life is so deeply mired in the mundanity that I need something to make me think — really think — about something outside myself, outside the daily routine, outside politics and the urgent fear and despair of humanity.

In fact, I suppose I still don’t because I saw no real reason to believe that such an understanding is true. The main problem that I had with this book is that it only really made one point well and then dobre went on to talk for a while about things that didn’t appear to have any basis in reality.
