There’s no bigger message or variation from that in Factotumand for me, that didn’t make it a compelling read. And Bukowski does deliver that quite well, but we get it after the first 30 pages and then the remaining pages are more of the same. And while he speaks of little else beyond sad, failed, alcoholic people, he manages to make it seem far less about him –the almighty, misanthropic author–and more about said sad, failed, alcoholic people.

Usually for bbukovski showing up for work while he was on a three-day bender with some girl, or healing from some fight. Chapters have got this high, weird look to it But then I wonder, is there more buried deep within the the wine-soaked walls of Bukowski than lets on immediately?
