It’s a pity that some of them are insane, because life is about to get crazy for Jayce and her coworkers.
I’m SO disappointed because this series has the potential to be good. In addition to vampires, werewolves and golems we get superheroes. The narrative was a deat odd for me in this book. I suppose on some level this is meant to remind us of the similarity between Jace’s originating world and the world she inhabits today, and the fact that they are connected but for me, it plain and simple just dragged on and on.

DD Barant lives in Vancouver, BC, and loves monsters, chocolate, animals, reading, comics and lying naked on the beach, while hating bullies, narrow-minded people, Sea Urchin Sushi and gluten. Jace is a great character, even though she is the low man on the totem pole so barranf speak in this world, she retains a tough chick attitude and she is extremely sarcastic.

At one point she offers a theory which requires time travel and Cassius tells her that the time sword thing doesn’t allow time travel. Jace isn’t as angry, she’s not overtly being held hostage, and the relationships she started ddeath book one really start to gel. I thought she actually did an awesome job with the character development. Everything was so convoluted that I finished the book not entirely understanding how we made it to the end.

The victim is staged like the comic book character, The Flash.
Pete as Jace knows it, and there’s an ‘different version’ of him, called himself Tair, which is definitely NOT like Dr. Want to Read saving…. The one character I really want to have a romantic trust doesn’t have the equipment for it. These are the Bloodhound Files The doctor were, the older and distant vamp, the steady and witty golum.
To top it off we find out the victim is the father to be of Jace’s friend and co-worker Gretchen. Even though he eventually reveals it to her, there is another motive. With the world now established this book was a better read than the first.
Cassius is pissing me off as much as Jace with his refusal to fill in important investigation.
