I hope I will be the lucky recipient of this newest edition of her wonderful book. And I was pretty good at creative alternatives — with a box of purple ribbons to show for my ingenuity! Amazon Music Stream millions of songs. Besides a more appealing cover, I didn’t notice any significant updates worthy of a revised book. Shaeffer, author of many sewing titles, focuses on the fine construction techniques of haute couture and reviews hand stitching, making pleats or finished pockets, shaping a perfect fit, producing flawless finishing, and creating beautiful embellishments and closures.
Most techniques here are not difficult, just different and sometimes more time-consuming than traditional home-sewing methods.

She is clear and concise–never leaving out a step that leaves you wondering what small miracle is supposed to happen in between! Claire’s atricles are always so informative and so is her original book. Clare b.ehaeffer such easy to follow instructions and her techniques are great. As I become more skilled I know I will add some beautiful hand work with ideas from this book.
B.shaeffwr had read the early one several times over the years and loved it, but either I have forgotten a lot from that edition or this is twice the book the earlier one was! The only drawback is that the instructions for those techniques are difficult to follow — the format is not step-by-step with in-progress photos which would have been immensely b.shaeffreso it takes some re-reading to understand some of the techniques.
